Nepal University Signs Academic Cooperation Agreement with India's IISc Bangalore

Kathmandu. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday between Nepal University and the prestigious Indian university, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, for academic cooperation. This agreement was made with the objective of collaborating on student and faculty exchange, joint research, and other academic activities between the two institutions.

The partnership with a world-class institution like IISc is viewed as a significant achievement in Nepal University's plan to ensure its autonomous governance structure and excellent academic quality. During the signing ceremony, Dr. Suryaraj Acharya, Registrar of Nepal University, gave a presentation on the overall structure and future plans of the university.

Prof. Govindan Rangarajan, Director of IISc, expressed readiness to cooperate, noting that the 'Integrated Science' curriculum that Nepal University is preparing to launch at the undergraduate level is similar to that of his institution.

Lal Krishna KC, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Nepal University, expressed confidence that this collaboration will create new opportunities in student teaching-learning, faculty capacity building, and high-level research.

The three-member delegation from Nepal University, which traveled to Bangalore at the invitation of IISc, held discussions with Deans, Heads of Departments, and professors from various faculties there. During the visit, the Nepali team also toured the new campus of IISc located in Challakere, which is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in the areas of science teacher training, climate change, sustainable technology, and skill development.
