Western Low-Pressure System Affecting Nepal, Forecast Indicates Light Rain and Snowfall in Higher Regions

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology has stated that a western low-pressure system is currently influencing Nepal. Due to this influence, hilly areas in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are completely cloudy, while the remaining areas are partly cloudy. Light rain is occurring in a few places in Bagmati Province and one or two places in Gandaki Province.

This afternoon, fog and mist will persist in many areas of the Terai region. There will be partial cloud cover in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the weather in the remaining areas will be mainly clear. There is a possibility of light snowfall accompanied by rain in one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, fog will be present in some parts of the Terai region. There will be partial cloud cover in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the weather in the remaining areas will be mainly clear.

The Department has indicated a possibility of light snowfall accompanied by rain in one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
