Six Dead in Massive Explosion at Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh, India

Raipur. Six workers have died in a massive explosion at a steel plant in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. Five other workers were seriously injured in the accident at the plant located in Bakulahi village of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district.

Officials stated that the explosion occurred suddenly in the 'Dust Settling Chamber' of the industry, situated approximately 101 kilometers north-east of the capital, Raipur. Following the explosion, superheated dust from the chamber fell onto the workers. It is reported that due to severe burns from the hot dust, their condition became critical, leading to the death of six during treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, the explosion was very powerful. Immediately after the incident, there was chaos inside the plant premises, and workers were seen fleeing in panic amidst thick smoke and flames in an attempt to save their lives.

Officials have ordered a detailed investigation into the cause of the explosion, taking the seriousness of the incident into consideration. The injured are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
