Transport Federation Demands Road Repairs Before Upcoming Elections

Kathmandu. The National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs of Nepal, the umbrella organization for transport operators across the country, has demanded that potholes on national highways be filled to ease vehicle movement before the elections.

Federation General Secretary Deknath Gautam issued a statement on Thursday, stating that due to the anticipated heavy volume of traffic on highways for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21, potholes must be filled to facilitate smooth transportation.

The Federation noted that transport operators nationwide are facing difficulties operating public vehicles because roads, including the Narayanghat-Butwal road section, the Naubise-Mugling road section, and the BP Highway, remain narrow and riddled with potholes.

The Federation has requested arrangements to be made so that public vehicles can move smoothly, preventing excessive delays for general passengers and voters reaching their destinations during the election period.
