Apex court registers contempt of court case against PM Sushila Karki
A contempt of court case has been filed against Prime Minister Sushila Karki for opposing the Supreme Court’s interim order to withdraw the government’s decision to recall Nepali ambassadors from foreign countries. Advocate Prem Silwal registered the case.
Hearing is scheduled for November 24, said the apex court spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also a defendant.
A Cabinet meeting on September 16 had decided to recall 11 Nepali ambassadors to China, Israel, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Spain, most of whom were appointed by the KP Sharma Oli-led government.
At present, the recalled ambassadors have been managed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where they record their attendance.
