Launch of a New Digital System at the Finance Ministry

The Ministry of Finance in Kathmandu has officially started using a new Integrated Office Management System. The system was launched by Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal. Starting from Friday, the process of approving files within the ministry will now be done through this digital system.

Goals of the New System

Minister Khanal explained that this new system is part of a larger government plan to make work in official bodies simpler, faster, more economical, transparent, and effective. The main goal is to use a single information technology platform to manage tasks, which will help reduce the reliance on paper and move towards a paperless office environment.

Mandatory Use and Key Functions

The use of this Integrated Office Management System, which was developed by the Department of Information Technology, has been made compulsory at the Finance Ministry. The system will require officials to use electronic signatures to handle various tasks. These tasks include issuing orders and decisions, registering letters, managing attendance, approving leave, and handling records, all through digital means.

Expected Benefits

It is expected that this new system will bring significant improvements. The decision-making process will become faster, costs will be reduced, and there will be greater transparency and accountability in how work is done.
