Recovery of Congress President Deuba

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is currently receiving treatment at the Chhauni Military Hospital. He sustained serious injuries from an assault by protesters during the Genjī movement on Bhadau 24.

Nature of Injuries and Treatment

According to a briefing by Congress Vice-President Purnabahadur Khadka, President Deuba suffered a serious injury to his neck, which required 12 stitches. His personal secretary, Bhanu Deuba, has informed that both Mr. Deuba and his wife will need to remain in the hospital for a few more days. Doctors have advised a further two to three days of hospitalization.

Condition of His Wife

Mr. Deuba's wife, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, who served as the Foreign Minister in the former KP Sharma Oli-led government, was also assaulted by the protesters during the same incident. She is also undergoing treatment at the same military hospital.

Improving Health Status

The personal secretary confirmed that the health condition of both President Deuba and his wife is gradually improving.
