Leader Singh Alerts Against Undermining Democratic Achievements

Nepali Congress leader Prakashman Singh has stated that there are attempts to weaken the changes and achievements brought by political parties, using the cover of the Jana Andolan movement. Speaking at an event to mark the 28th remembrance day of Ganeshman Singh, he emphasized that it is the responsibility of political parties to secure the rights that have been achieved, institutionalize them, and work according to the people's aspirations.

Concerns Over Destructive Actions

Leader Singh expressed serious concern over the violent incidents that occurred during the recent protests. He mentioned that the burning of the Koiraala residence in Biratnagar, the Chakshibari complex in Kathmandu, and the ashram of Krishna Prasad Bhattarai shows a deliberate effort to erase the contributions made by political parties and their leaders under the pretext of the Jana Andolan. He urged the government to be vigilant and thoroughly investigate those trying to play an undemocratic game through this process.

Call for Democratic Improvement and Leadership

Mr. Singh emphasized that political parties must move forward by addressing issues where the people are not satisfied, using democratic methods. He stated that the Nepali Congress must take a leadership role in lifting the country from the current situation. He also noted that the current movement sends a message that moving forward must be done by keeping the people at the center.

Criminal Activities Under the Guise of Protest

Singh accused individuals with criminal intentions of carrying out arson and vandalism under the cover of the Jana Andolan. He clarified that the Jana Andolan itself was not meant to erase history, but criminals used its name for destructive acts. He expressed deep sorrow over the burning of historically significant sites like Chakshibari, which played a role in the 2046 democratic change, the ashram of Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, and the residence in Biratnagar where honest senior Congress leaders lived.

Demand for Rule of Law and Investigation

Reiterating his commitment to the rule of law, Singh stressed that those involved in arson and vandalism must be investigated and held accountable according to the law. He paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the movement and expressed condolences to their families. He concluded by stating that political parties must institutionalize themselves and move forward according to the demands of the time, as nothing can be achieved in a state of chaos and void. He demanded a evidence-based investigation and action against the perpetrators of the destruction.
