Rastriya Swatantra Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Boycott House of Representatives Meeting

Opposition Parties Protest Investigation Process
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) boycuted Tuesday's House of Representatives meeting, demanding either a parliamentary special investigation committee or a high-level judicial probe into the visit visa scandal. The parties have been protesting since Jestha 13, insisting on proper investigation mechanisms.

Protest During Session Opening
As soon as Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced the start of the session, RPP and RSP lawmakers stood up in protest. Speaker Ghimire allowed RSP lawmaker Shishir Khanal to speak, who stated they would continue protesting until their demands for a proper investigation into the visa scandal were met. Khanal also raised concerns about ministers being involved in various controversies and demanded investigations into those matters.

Continued Opposition and Boycott Announcement
RPP lawmaker Bina Lamichhane was then given the floor, reiterating their long-standing demand for a committee to investigate the visa issue. She declared their protest would continue indefinitely, including boycotting parliamentary sessions and refusing daily allowances for boycott days. Following these speeches, lawmakers from both parties walked out of the assembly hall.

Background of the Protest
Both parties have been consistently demanding either a parliamentary special investigation committee or a judicial commission to properly examine the visit visa setting scandal. Their ongoing protest reflects dissatisfaction with the government's handling of the issue and other alleged ministerial misconducts.
