One Killed, One Injured in Bolero Hit-and-Run Accident in Surkhet

Incident Overview
A tragic road accident occurred in Virgendranagar Municipality-11 on Wednesday morning when a speeding Bolero pickup (Registration: Karnali Province 02001 Cha 0944) struck two individuals who were cutting grass near Dhuliya-bit. The collision resulted in the death of 34-year-old Prem Budha, who sustained severe head and abdominal injuries, while 32-year-old Tilakumari Budha suffered leg injuries and is currently receiving treatment.

Victim Details
Prem Budha was immediately rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries at 11:10 AM during treatment. Tilakumari Budha's condition is reported to be stable with moderate injuries. Both victims were residents of the area where the accident occurred.

Driver Apprehended
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Yamalal Sunar from Lekbeshi Municipality-6, has been taken into custody by the Surkhet District Traffic Police. Chief Police Inspector Wakil Sunar stated that the Bolero was traveling at high speed from Gumibagar toward Virgendranagar when the accident happened around 10:45 AM.

Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have launched a full investigation into the incident. This marks the third fatal road accident in Surkhet district this month, raising concerns about road safety and speeding vehicles in the area. The police are preparing to file appropriate charges against the driver upon completion of their probe.
