Gold price sets new record in domestic market

Kathmandu, March 14 — The price of gold has set a new record in the Nepali market on Friday.

Breaking all previous records, the price of gold has reached NPR 174,500 per tola (11.66 grams).

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association , the price of hallmark gold had reached NPR 170,500 per tola on Wednesday.

As Thursday was a public holiday, no price determination took place.

On Friday, however, the price of gold surged by NPR 4,000, reaching NPR 174,500 per tola.

The previous highest price of gold was NPR 171,000 per tola, which has now been surpassed with the new record.

In other news, the price of silver, which was NPR 2,000 per tola on Wednesday, has increased to NPR 2,050 per tola.
