NEPSE rises by 17.28 points after continuous fall

Kathmandu, March 12 — After a continuous decline for seven days, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw an upward trend today.
On Wednesday, the market index dropped by 17.28 points, reaching 2,736.48 points.
Today, the market saw a trading volume of NPR 8.23 billion, slightly lower than yesterday's NPR 8.39 billion.
The value of shares of 146 companies rose, while 88 companies saw a decline in their share prices, and 10 companies maintained stable prices.
People's Power Company, Prabhu Insurance, and Divyashwari Hydropower had the highest increases in share value.
On the other hand, shares of Wean Nepal Microfinance saw a 10% decrease, triggering a negative circuit.
Apart from microfinance and development banks, all other sub-indices saw an increase today, with sectors like others and investment groups rising by more than 1%.
In terms of trading volume, Machhapuchhre Bank's promoter shares saw a transaction worth NPR 81 crore, while Himalayan Reinsurance's transaction amounted to NPR 56 crore.
Guardian Life Insurance led in terms of the number of transactions, while Machhapuchhre Bank's promoter shares topped the list for the highest number of shares traded.
