Kathmandu, March 9 — As preparations are being made to welcome former King Gyanendra Shah, who is returning from Pokhara to Kathmandu, security at Tribhuvan International Airport has been tightened.

Only passengers with flight tickets and airport staff are allowed inside, and entry for others has been prohibited.

To prevent any kind of commotion, illegal activities, or actions against social norms, security measures around the airport have also been strengthened, according to police sources.

The police have heightened security from Tribhuvan International Airport to Nirmal Niwas in Maharajganj, considering the area to be highly sensitive.

Parties like Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rashtriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, and Durga Prasai group have made preparations to welcome the former king as he returns to Kathmandu from Pokhara.
