Clash erupts in Baneshwor, DSP injured

Kathmandu, March 2 — A clash erupted in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, between police officers and protesting tenant farmers during a demonstration organized by the "Swargadwari Guthi Victims Tenancy Struggle Committee."
In the clash, DSP Ganga Paudel from the Singhadurbar Police Circle was injured.
DSP Paudel is receiving treatment at Civil Service Hospital in Minbhawan.
The protest committee has been staging demonstrations in Kathmandu for some time.
The clash took place in front of Bakery Cafe in Baneshwor after the protesters attempted to breach a restricted area, according to a police officer from the Kathmandu District Police Office.
Several protesters were also reported to be injured.
