UML calls Secretariat meeting amid stalled ordinances

Kathmandu, February 26 — The ruling party, CPN (UML), has called for a Secretariat meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, 18th Falgun (March 2), at 2:00 PM.

According to UML central office secretary Dr. Bhishma Acharya, the agenda for the Secretariat meeting will be decided in a headquarters meeting on Saturday, 17th Falgun (March 1).

The headquarters typically includes the party’s General Secretary, along with deputy general secretaries and secretaries.

This meeting comes as a response to the stalling of several ordinances introduced by the government led by UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

The ordinances have been delayed including the controversial ordinance related to land reforms.

Although the ordinances were registered in Parliament, they have yet to be discussed in both houses due to a lack of a majority in the National Assembly, preventing them from moving forward.
