Yunus invites Musk to visit Bangladesh and roll out Starlink

Dhaka, February 23 — Bangladesh Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has invited billionaire Elon Musk to visit Bangladesh and launch the Starlink satellite service in the country.
In a letter to the SpaceX CEO on Feb 19, Yunus noted that Musk’s visit would give him the opportunity to meet young Bangladeshis, who stand to benefit greatly from the cutting-edge technology.
“Let us work together to deliver our mutual vision for a better future,” Yunus wrote.
The letter highlighted that integrating Starlink’s connectivity into Bangladesh’s infrastructure would be transformative, especially for the country’s enterprising youth, rural and vulnerable women, and remote and underserved communities.
To facilitate the initiative, the chief advisor assigned his High Representative Dr Khalilur Rahman to coordinate with Musk’s SpaceX team and complete the necessary preparations to ensure that Starlink is ready for launch in Bangladesh within the next 90 working days.
This follows an extensive phone discussion between Yunus and Musk on Feb 13, where they explored potential collaborations and discussed the next steps for introducing Starlink’s satellite internet service in Bangladesh.
