China and US Maintain Close Communication and Cooperation in Drug Control

Kathmandu. China has stated that close communication and practical cooperation are ongoing between China and the United States in the field of drug control.

Wei Xiaojun, executive deputy director of the Office of the China National Narcotics Control Commission and head of the Narcotics Control Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, informed at a press conference organized by the Office on Wednesday that institutional dialogue and cooperation are taking place between the two countries at various levels.

According to Wei, China maintains regular contact with relevant bodies including the US Office of National Drug Control Policy. Additionally, law enforcement agencies of both countries have jointly investigated many drug-related cases.

He also stated that China has taken active steps to prevent the misuse of precursor chemicals used in the illicit drug production in North America. The Chinese side has expressed its commitment to continuously expand international cooperation for drug control.
