Injured Finance Minister Paudel airlifted to Kathmandu

Pokhara, February 15 — Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, who was injured when a balloon prepared for the inauguration of the Visit Pokhara Year event burst, has been airlifted to Kathmandu.
He was brought to the capital via a Simrik Air helicopter.
According to the Minister's Secretariat, Paudel sustained injuries to his hand and face. He will be taken to the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur for further examination.
Press advisor Bhuwan KC stated, "The injuries are minor, but to ensure there are no further complications, he has been taken to the hospital for a check-up."
Earlier, Paudel had received treatment at Gandaki Hospital.
The balloon, which featured a banner promoting Visit Pokhara Year, burst during the event, also injuring Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya.
Preparations are being made to airlift him to Kathmandu as well.
