Myagdi DCC head arrested

Myagdi, February 2 — The chief of the District Coordination Committee (DCC) in Myagdi has been arrested in connection with a cooperative fraud case. Police sources confirmed the arrest of Rajkumar Thapa.

Thapa is accused of embezzling 1.5 billion rupees from Kumari Cooperative.

A report had been submitted by the police last year, alleging Thapa as the main planner behind the fraudulent activities.

The report highlights that the cooperative's funds were misused for personal interests, including investments in private schools and real estate.

According to the report, a total of 16 million rupees was embezzled with Thapa’s involvement.
