Stock market declines after six days of growth

Kathmandu, January 9 — After six consecutive days of growth, the stock market experienced a decline on the seventh trading day.

On Thursday, the market dropped by 18 points, bringing the index to 2635 points.

Despite the market decline, the trading volume saw an increase, with a turnover of NPR 7.3 billion.

Notably, Barahi Hydro and Himalayan Power Partners' share prices saw positive circuit breaks.

While the hotel and tourism sector saw a 0.99% increase, all other sub-indices dropped.

Overall, the market rose by 44 points over the week, with the index moving from 2591 points on Sunday to 2635 points today.
