NEPSE index up by 6 points
Kathmandu, January 7 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a modest increase on Tuesday, rising by 6 points to close at 2646.84.
Shares of companies in the finance group saw a rise, with the overall finance sector index increasing by 2.65%.
A total of 14 companies under this group gained value, while one saw a decline.
In total, 126 companies saw their share prices rise today.
Among them, Saptakoshi Development Bank, Nyadi Hydropower, and Prabhu Mahalaxmi Insurance hit their price circuit limits.
Shares of Sindhu Development Bank and Samriddhi Finance rose by more than 9%.
In terms of trading volume, Sindhu Development Bank led with a total trade value of NPR 169.3 million.
The total transaction for the day amounted to NPR 5.38 billion.
Meanwhile, 107 companies experienced a drop in share prices, with companies like Atmanirbhar Microfinance and Dolti Power reaching their negative circuit limits.
