In pictures: National Flag Day being observed today

Kathmandu, December 16 — The seventh National Flag Day is being celebrated today (Monday) in remembrance of the day when Nepal's national flag was globally recognized by the United Nations.

National Flag Day is observed every year on the 1st of Poush.

Today, a rally was organized at Basantapur Durbar Square in Kathmandu, where the national flag of Nepal was carried.

Speaking at the event, Rajananda Mandavya, the founder of National Flag Day, mentioned that National Flag Day is celebrated in memory of December 16, 1962 (1st of Poush, 2019 in the Nepali calendar), the day when Nepal's national flag was globally recognized by the United Nations.
