Cambodia urged for operating Cambodia-Bhairahawa flights

Kathmandu, December 15 — Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has proposed to the government of Cambodia for operating a direct flight from Cambodia to Bhairahawa, Nepal.

Minister Pandey proposed this during his meeting with Cambodia's Minister for Cults and Religion, Chay Borin, today.

On the occasion, he informed his Cambodian counterpart about the subsidy that the government has ensured for airline companies operating flights at Pokhara and Bhairahawa international airports.

During the meeting, the two exchanged views on developing a Buddhist circuit by connecting major Buddhist destinations in both countries and cooperating in areas of art, music, tourism, and culture.

According to Minister Pandey's Secretariat, the two ministers also discussed youth engagement and educational exchanges to further deepen the cultural relations and goodwill between the two countries by cooperating for the conservation and protection of UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The Cambodian Minister invited Minister Pandey for an official visit to Cambodia, it is said.
