At least 8 killed in multiple vehicle accidents across Nepal

Kathmandu, December 14 — At least 8 people have been confirmed dead in various vehicle accidents across the country, according to Nepal Police.

In Morang, on the road at Belbari Municipality-4, Betana, a pedestrian named 65-year-old Lakshuram Rai of the same municipality was killed on Friday evening after being hit by a Magic van with the registration number Ko.1 Ja 3399. He was severely injured and died during treatment at Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar.

In Gulmi, at the Dajakot road in Musikot Municipality-4, a Force vehicle with the registration number Sudurpashchim Pradesh-1-001 Ja 1385 lost control and fell about 300 meters off the road on Friday evening. The 45-year-old passenger, Rabin Kumar Shrestha from Resunga Municipality-8, Chapatol, died from severe injuries during treatment at the District Hospital Tamghas. 

In Rupandehi, at the Tinau Bridge road in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-5, a Bolero jeep with the registration number Lu.3 Cha 2480 lost control and crashed on Friday night, resulting in the deaths of 32-year-old driver Hari Neupane, from Syangja and living in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-12, Naya Gaun, along with 71-year-old Tilak Ram Khanal and 67-year-old Gori Khanal, both passengers in the jeep. They succumbed to their injuries during treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal.

In Baglung, at the Bhaiseko Bridge road in Galkot Municipality-3, a tractor with the registration number Dh.1 Ta 192 lost control and crashed on Friday night, resulting in the death of 24-year-old driver Tek Bahadur BK from Gulmi Musikot. He was critically injured and died during treatment at Nagar Hospital, Galkot.

In Sindhuli, at the Kurthauli road in Dudhouli Municipality-1, a motorcycle hit 3-year-old Ayush Majhi, the son of Dukhilal Majhi from the same place, on Friday night. The child was critically injured and died during treatment at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, Kathmandu. The motorcycle driver, who fled the scene, is being searched by the police.

In Ramechhap, at the Makadum road in Khadadevi Rural Municipality-6, a tractor with the registration number Na.6 Ta 7824, coming from Galpa towards Goganapani, lost control and fell about 200 meters off the road on Saturday afternoon. The 37-year-old driver, Khil Bahadur Bhujel, from Ramechhap Municipality-5, died in the accident. He was critically injured and passed away during treatment at a hospital in Manthali.

The police are conducting necessary investigations into the accidents.
