Health Ministry orders health institutions to align salaries with government standards
Kathmandu, December 13 — The Ministry of Health and Population has directed that the minimum salary and service facilities for nurses and other healthcare workers working in all health institutions be aligned with those provided by the government.
According to a decision at the secretary level, the ministry issued a letter on Friday to government hospitals, medical colleges, and community private hospitals across the country, instructing them to ensure proper service facilities for healthcare workers.
The ministry has also directed that if healthcare workers are assigned work beyond the prescribed time, additional allowances should be provided.
In a five-point directive, the ministry stated that health and educational institutions must hire workers under contracts (appointment agreements), and workers cannot be employed on a daily wage basis.
It was also mentioned that educational certificates should not be kept by the office.
