NEPSE index drops by 46 points

Kathmandu, December 8 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has dropped by 46 points in a single day.

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, today (Sunday), the market fell by 45.93 points, reaching 2,689 points.

On Thursday, the index was at 2,734.93 points. Today, shares worth Rs. 7.35 billion, representing 141 million shares, were traded.

In the market today, the share prices of 214 companies decreased, while 27 companies saw an increase.

The prices of three companies remained unchanged.

All types of indices and sub-indices in the market declined today.

The largest drop was seen in the life insurance sector, which fell by 3.08%, while the smallest decrease was in the production and processing industry, which dropped by 0.32%.

Today, shares of Manushi Microfinance, LIC Nepal, and Joshi Hydropower fell by 10%, triggering a negative circuit breaker, while the share price of Saamudaaiyik Microfinance also dropped by 9.97%.

Khanikhola Hydropower saw the largest increase in share price, rising by 9.98%.

In terms of trading volume, NRN Infrastructure led with a turnover of Rs. 326.4 million, while Laxmi Unnati Kosh had the highest number of shares traded, with 20 million units.

Nepal Finance had the highest number of transactions, with 1,810 trades.
