NEPSE index rises by 17.80 points
Kathmandu, December 3 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw positive movement on Tuesday, with the main index increasing by 17.80 points, or 0.64%, to reach 2,775.85 points.
However, the Sensitive Index, which tracks class 'A' companies, declined by 0.12%, dropping to 471.21 points.
On Tuesday, the total market turnover amounted to NPR 8.52 billion, with 1.81 million shares from 244 companies being traded.
Among the sectors, the hydropower subgroup experienced the largest gains, while the hotel and tourism sector recorded the most significant losses.
Five companies—Divyashwari, Ingwa Hydropower, Khani Khola Hydropower, Joshi Hydropower, and Super Madi Hydropower—hit a positive circuit breaker, showing strong performance.
In contrast, Upper Syange Hydropower saw the largest drop, falling by 9.51%. Ngadi Group Power Company led the day in terms of turnover and share trading volume, with Janaki Finance also making a notable contribution, crossing NPR 25 million in transactions.
Overall, the market displayed a mixed performance with varying trends across different sectors.
