NEPSE index declines on final trading day of the week

Kathmandu, November 28 — The stock market index declined on Thursday, the final trading day of the week.

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the index fell by 8.30 points, closing at 2,748.05. The total transaction volume for the day reached NPR 8.44 billion.

Despite a minor drop in the market, the number of companies experiencing a price decline was significantly high. Out of the traded companies, 197 saw their prices decrease, while only 46 companies recorded price increases. One company’s stock price remained unchanged.

Although the overall market declined, the trading sector experienced a notable growth of 9.25%. Sub-indices for development banks and life insurance saw slight increases, while other sub-indices declined.

On Thursday, shares of Butwal Power Company and Win Nepal Microfinance hit positive circuit breakers, while Manushi Microfinance faced a negative circuit breaker.

Excel Development Bank had the highest trading volume in monetary terms, while Miteri Development Bank recorded the highest number of transactions.
