Local by-election: Maoist candidate elected unopposed as ward chair in Putha Uttarganga RM
Kathmandu, November 20 — Under the local level by-election, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has secured its first victory in Rukum East.
According to Maoist leader and federal MP from Rukum East, Purna Gharti, Jagat Bahadur Gharti, the Maoist candidate from Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality-2, was elected unopposed.
He further informed that Jagat Bahadur Gharti was elected after the common candidate from Congress-UML alliance, Jeevan Rokaya, withdrew his candidacy.
