Film 'Hali' Trailer Released, Depicting Chhau Practice and Societal Change

Kathmandu. The trailer of the film 'Hali', which is set to be released on July 22, has been released. The trailer, released through the OSR Digital YouTube channel, encapsulates the story of the Chhau practice and how a single 'Hali' can change the face of the country. It shows the story of not being sent to school because of menstruation, and also the story of not seeing the face of a father and male for 21 days.

This film, produced by Pooja Gurung and Jasmine Shrestha, is written and directed by Om Pratik. The film features performances by Pramod Deep, Sujata Thapa, Vidya Karki, Saroj Khanal, Aruna Karki, Arjun Gurung, Naveen Shrestha, Kanchan Dulal, Kamal Gaunle, and Vishal Pahari. Additionally, director Om Pratik himself plays a lead role.

Producer Gurung stated that this film is based on a true story. She said that the film will show the story of how a single 'Hali' can change the face of the country. Gurung said, 'It is enough to change the country. The country will not change just by leaders giving speeches here.'

Director Pratik said that if the consciousness of the mind is broadened, there is no need to get a PhD in studies. He said, 'In the western region, it is customary to place women in Chhau practice for the first time during menstruation. We have made this film based on that real story. If consciousness is viewed broadly, there is no need to get a PhD in studies.'

Actress Deepa Shree Niraula, Pooja Sharma, and Mithila Sharma have acted in a promotional song for the film. This film, produced in collaboration with Japura Films Production and Shuva Chirayu Films, has a revolutionary style of story. The production team aims to convey the message that one 'Hali' is enough to bring about change in the country.

The film features music by veteran musicians Shambhujeet Baskota, Babul Giri, and Krishna Bhardwaj.

The executive producer of the film is Arjun Bhusal, co-producer Namrata Bhandari, line producer Laxman Karmacharya, and chief assistant director Jeevannath Gautam.
