Former DIG Joshi being brought to Kathmandu for further investigation

Kathmandu, November 19 — Former DIG Chhabilal Joshi is being brought to Kathmandu for investigation. He is being sent to Kathmandu on Tuesday in connection with the misappropriation of funds from the Swarnalakshmi Multipurpose Cooperative. This was confirmed by an officer from the Kaski District Police Office to Ratopati.

Joshi had been arrested in connection with the embezzlement of funds from the Surya Darshan Cooperative. After taking a statement from Kumar Ramtel, the treasurer of Swarnalakshmi, the Kathmandu police sent him to Pokhara for further investigation.

The funds from the Kalimati-based Swarnalakshmi Multipurpose Cooperative were found to have been illegally transferred to the Gorkha Media Network. Preliminary investigations revealed that 18.2 million rupees were misappropriated through illegal means into the Gorkha Media.

A total of 645 savers from the cooperative have filed complaints with the police.
