Dr. Baikuntha Aryal resigns from National Planning Commission
Kathmandu, November 18 — Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, who was assigned responsibilities equivalent to that of the Chief Secretary in the National Planning Commission, has resigned from his position.
He had recently been acquitted of a corruption charge by the Special Court. After reporting to the National Planning Commission only on Sunday, he tendered his resignation today, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Following his acquittal in the corruption case, Aryal had been staying at home due to uncertainty about where to report for duty. It is understood that he resigned after discussions with the government.
