Chirkane-Deurali section of Prithvi Highway to close daily for 4.5 hours for 20 days
Tanahun, November 18 — The Prithvi Highway segment between Chirkane and Deurali in Byas Municipality-12, Tanahun, will be closed daily for four and a half hours for the next 20 days, starting today.
The closure is being enforced to accelerate the construction work on the Chirkane-Deurali section of the under-construction Muglin-Pokhara road until December 8. According to Engineer Bishnu Prasad Pandey of the Muglin-Pokhara Road Project (Eastern Section), the work will be carried out in two phases during the road closure.
Pandey informed that the road will be completely closed from 11 PM to 1 AM for construction work. It will reopen briefly from 1 AM to 1:30 AM for vehicular movement. In the second phase, the road will be closed again from 1:30 AM to 4 AM for construction. Special provisions will be made to allow vehicles to pass in case of emergencies.
During the closure, drivers are urged to maintain strict lane discipline and avoid overtaking in queues to prevent disruptions.
As of now, 68% of the construction progress has been achieved in the eastern section of the Muglin-Pokhara road.
