Authorities sign deal to ensure availability of air ticket
Kathmandu, November 9 — The stakeholders and officials have forged a consensus to ensure accessibility of the plane ticket and maintain a reasonable fare for the ticket.
Such a deal was signed on Saturday between the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and stakeholders.
Such a decision was made as the comments were received on the exorbitant price of the air ticket after the 10 hours of closure of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) a day for the next five months from November 8.
Present at the discussions were officials of the CAAN, ministries' officials and agents of domestic and international airline companies.
As decided, the right of the TBA (ticket booking agent) given to the travel agencies by the airline companies to sell the tickets en masse has been cancelled. Now, all the airline companies should abide by this decision.
Likewise, the airline operators should fix and reveal the amount of the airfare as per the flight circle.
