NRB launches silver coin sales for Tihar
Kathmandu, October 28 — The Nepal Rastra Bank has commenced the sale of silver coins (medallions) in preparation for Tihar (Dhanteras). The bank's Mint Division has initiated this sale, offering coins in 10-gram and 25-gram weights.
This year, the bank has increased the prices of these silver coins and medallions. Due to the rising market prices of gold and silver, the bank has adjusted the prices of these metallic items, with increases ranging from 7.89% to 11.11%.
The Mint Division has raised the price of the 25-gram cow medallion, previously sold at NPR 4,500, to NPR 5,000. Similarly, the prices for other medallions such as Guru Nanak, Satyamohan Joshi, and Securities Board medallions have also been set at NPR 5,000 each. The prices for the 10-gram Lakshmi, Ganesh, Jaga Lakshmi, and Satyamohan Joshi medallions have risen from NPR 1,800 to NPR 2,000.
Additionally, the price of the 15-gram Mint Mechanization medallion has increased from NPR 3,800 to NPR 4,100, while the 31.103-gram state coronation medallion has gone from NPR 7,300 to NPR 7,950. The 25-gram Saarc proof coin's price has been raised from NPR 6,500 to NPR 7,000, and the 31.1-gram Gyanendra state coronation medallion has increased from NPR 7,200 to NPR 7,850.
