Kathmandu, October 26 — Due to the continuous rainfall on September 27 and 28, cleanup efforts have begun to clear the debris accumulated along the riverbanks.
The Lalitpur Metropolitan City, local wards, residents, and the Nepal Police have collaborated for the cleanup.
Starting from 7:30 AM on Saturday, cleaning has been carried out in the Bagmati River, Nakhhu Khola, and the Balkumari area rivers.
Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan informed that the collection of plastic, clothing, and paper waste brought by the flood and the cleaning of riverbanks will be conducted.
He stated that the debris brought in from other areas by the flood has marred the beauty of Lalitpur city and its main riverbanks, prompting the cleanup efforts.
All wards except for 5, 6, 12, 15, 16, 19, and 20 in Lalitpur Metropolitan City have been affected by the flood.
