NC satisfied with Oli government's performance: Deuba

Kathmandu, October 25 — Sher Bahadur Deuba, President of the Nepali Congress and former Prime Minister, stated that the Nepali Congress party is satisfied with the government's performance in its first hundred days. He mentioned that there is no reason to express dissatisfaction with the work done by the government led by CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli during this period.

He praised the government for its achievements during what he referred to as the "honeymoon phase." Chairman Deuba noted that the government has made progress in various areas. He also addressed the misconceptions regarding disaster management and relief efforts, asserting that the government has effectively deployed security personnel for search and rescue operations.

Deuba remarked that the current government is set to complete its full term, with Prime Minister Oli leading for the first two years and himself taking over for the remaining year and a half.

He stated, “I feel good now; many things are going well. I view the first hundred days positively. They call it the honeymoon phase, and indeed good work has been done. The government has made significant progress. In the cases of floods and landslides, the government has conducted effective rescue and search operations. People have been sent out, and operations have been carried out from helicopters. Overall, there is nothing to criticize; the first hundred days have been good. The plan is for him to lead for two years, and I will take over for the next year and a half.”

President Deuba acknowledged that minor issues will inevitably arise within his own party, stating that it is natural for problems to emerge when forming a government in collaboration with another party.
