Maoist Centre to hold mass demonstration on Oct 26
Kathmandu, October 21 — The Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) has announced a public demonstration and awareness rally to be held in Kathmandu on October 26. The party intends to draw attention to the government's erroneous actions and highlight necessary tasks during the awareness assembly at Exhibition Road.
Chairman Pushpakamal Dahal 'Prachanda' addressed a joint meeting of the party's Bagmati and Special Province Coordination Committees, as well as the heads of various mass organizations, held at the party office in Parisdanda. He informed them that the central committee had decided to conduct the awareness assembly and directed all committees to prepare for it.
The Maoist Centre cited the government's insensitivity, irresponsibility, and lack of planning in disaster management as reasons for the gathering. They aim to address issues such as the search for the missing, distribution of aid, treatment of the injured, and construction of temporary housing, as well as problems in reconstruction and rehabilitation. The demonstration will also seek to thwart conspiracies and corrupt activities that undermine the campaign for good governance initiated by their party-led government.
A meeting is ongoing in Parisdanda to finalize additional agendas for the public demonstration and awareness rally.
