Six more bodies found in Lalitpur, ten still missing

Lalitpur, October 1 — Six bodies have been recovered in Lalitpur following floods and landslides caused by continuous rainfall. With these additional six recoveries, the death toll in Lalitpur has reached 40, as informed by SSP Shekhar Khanal.

The deceased include nine-year-old Ayush Syangtan from Mahankal Municipality-2, 40-year-old Rammaya Syangtan and her children: 14-year-old Ajay, 11-year-old Subash, and nine-year-old Salina, all from the same family. The body of Ishwar Timalsina, who went missing from Gotikhil in Mahankal Municipality-3, has also been found.

According to SSP Khanal, ten people remain missing in Lalitpur due to the monsoon-related disaster, and search efforts are ongoing. Three individuals who were injured in the disaster are currently receiving treatment: six-year-old Meghna Shah, who resides in Lalitpur but is originally from Rautahat, 34-year-old Thulimaya Rumba from Godawari Municipality-7, and Bhushan Aryal, aged 30, from Bagmati Rural Municipality-4.

6. Bivek Singh, 30 years old, working at Anandaban Hospital, Godawari Municipality-6
7. Keshav Neupane, 50 years old, from Ghusel, Baghmati Rural Municipality-1
8. Sanjita Syangtan, 12 years old, from Mahankal Municipality-2
9. Chhabilal Syangtan, 35 years old, from Mahankal Municipality-2
10. Sister-in-law of Chhabilal Syangtan (name not disclosed)
