Police destroy large quantity of homemade alcohol from Gongabu area

Kathmandu -  The police today destroyed a large amount of homemade alcohol from Gongabu Bus Park Area, as part of freeing the area from alcohol. 
A team from the Metropolitan Police Sector, Gongabu raided various local bar and hotels, seized 1,000 liters of homemade liquour , and destroyed it, said Sector Chief Pratap Poudel. 

At least 3,000 liters of homemade alcohol in past one week when the campaign against selling and producing alcohol illegally started, he said. 
"We dumped the alcohol in the presence of the town reform committee, women's group and local representatives," he said, adding that consumption of alcohol causes criminal activities.
