Study committee formed to resolve citizenship issues
Kathmandu, September 16 — The Home Ministry has formed a study committee to resolve citizenship issues.
The five-member committee was formed today under coordination of Chief of Policy, Plan, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the Home Ministry, Tok Raj Pandey.
Under-Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), Under-Secretary of the Law Ministry, representative of Legal Division and Under-Secretary of the Citizenship and National identity Card Management Section of the Home Ministry are the members of the committee.
The Committee has been asked to submit study report within October 1. According to the Home Ministry, a mandate has been given to the committee to identify problems facing by citizens at present.
Similarly, suggestions have been sought from the study committee regarding the issue of analyzing existing legal arrangement and revising the acts, regulations and procedures for resolving citizenship issue.
Earlier, discussion was held on the draft of procedure issuing and managing Nepali citizenship certificate-2081 on presence of Home Minister, Ramesh Lekhak, at the Home Ministry today.
