Karnali river surpasses danger level amidst heavy rainfall
Dhangadhi, September 13 —The Karnali River has exceeded its danger level following two days of incessant rainfall.
The river's water level has now reached 10.9 meters, surpassing the danger threshold of 10.8 meters, according to the record at the Automatic Water Level Station in Chisapani.
Authorities have issued a high alert to residents living along the riverbanks and in several municipalities such as Rajapur Municipality, Geruwa Rural Municipality, and Madhuwan Municipality in Bardiya district, as well as Tikapur Municipality and Janaki Rural Municipality in Kailali district.
People of these areas are being advised to move to safer locations and stay vigilant due to the potential for further flooding.
