Land provided for Red Cross building construction
Kanchanpur - An announcement was made to provide 10-dhur land to Red Cross Jhalari for the construction of its office building.
Shuklaphanta municipality Mayor Dil Bahadur Eir made the announcement while addressing the 42nd district assembly of Nepal Red Cross Society Kanchanpur district chapter on Saturday.
Mayor Eir noted that the Red Cross as an organization closely working with people should be promoted with cooperation from all sides.
He further shared that the ward-8 of the municipality had allocated Rs 50,000 for the development of physical infrastructure of the Red Cross.
Also speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor Tulsi Hamal appreciated the performance of Red Cross Kanchanpur and urged the philanthropic organization to take lead role in every sector.
The organization presented an estimated budget of Rs 66.59 million for the next fiscal year.
At the programme, former Red Cross activist Chitrang Thapa, Bir Bahadur Rokaya, Mahendra Bahadur Basnet and Nanda Devi Khatry were felicitated for their immense contributions to Red Cross.
