Police arrest suspect in Shankhamul homicide case

Kathmandu, August 28 — The police have arrested a 22-year-old man named MK Kumar from Simraungadh, Bara, on charges of murdering Rupak Bantawa at The Time Pass Snooker and Snack House in Shankhamul, Kathmandu.

Kumar was apprehended by investigators from the District Police Range Kathmandu.

40-year-old Rupak Bantawa was killed during a snooker game at his cafe on August 26. When the police arrived at 1:50 am, they found Bantawa lying on the couch in a pool of blood. He was declared dead by doctors at the Civil Hospital in Min Bhawan.

An officer involved in the investigation informed Ratopati that MK Kumar was arrested at his rented room near the scene of the crime.
