Maoist Centre urges PM Oli to address flood and landslide risks

Kathmandu, October 6 — The CPN (Maoist Centre) has urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to mitigate risks arising from floods, landslides, and inundation, and to organize search, rescue, and relief efforts immediately following such incidents.

A delegation led by senior vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha of the Maoist Centre made this request at the Prime Minister's Office in Singhadurbar.

Senior vice-chairman Shrestha emphasized the need for preparedness and immediate action for search, rescue, and relief after disasters, highlighting that all relevant agencies and parties must recognize their shared responsibilities. The Maoist Centre has made it clear that it is ready to collaborate with the government in disaster management efforts.

Prime Minister Oli stated that all parties must come together to reduce disasters and face upcoming challenges, assuring that the government will take the lead in these efforts.

On this occasion, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Maoist Centre vice-chairman Agni Prasad Sapkota, General Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung, deputy general secretaries Barshaman Pun, Janardan Sharma, Pampha Bhusal, and other leaders were present.
