HoR meeting today: Q&A session with PM

Kathmandu, August 22 - The House of Representatives is scheduled to meet today. The session, scheduled for 1:00 p.m., will address a range of topics, including changes in thematic committees and a direct question-and-answer session with the Prime Minister.

At the beginning of the meeting, Speaker Devraj Ghimire is expected to propose changes to the membership of thematic committees within the House of Representatives.

Following this, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will respond to questions from parliamentarians, as outlined in section 9 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2079.

Additionally, MP Tosima Karki is set to draw the attention of the Minister of Health and Population regarding the need for effective forecasting, control, and rapid response to any potential health crisis arising from the cholera epidemic.

According to the Parliament Secretariat, the agenda also includes presenting MP Prem Suwal’s opposition notice regarding the motion seeking permission to introduce the amended Securities Bill, 2081.

Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present the amended Securities Bill, 2081, along with the Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility Bill.
