Music maestro Kamat passes away

Siraha: Gurudev Kamat, a renowned classical music maestro, passed away this morning at 7:30 AM in Pokharbhinda, Lakshampir Patari Rural Municipality 2, Siraha District.

Kamat, who had been suffering from renal failure for a long time, was 69 years old.

According to his son, Pramindra Kamat, Gurudev Kamat returned to his birthplace a month ago due to financial difficulties for treatment.

For the past 40 years, he had been residing in Kathmandu, making significant contributions to Nepali songs and music.

Despite his unparalleled contributions to Nepali music, Kamat was unable to receive proper treatment due to financial constraints.

He was born on August 1, 1955, in Pokharbhinda, Siraha District.
