MG Motor India Announces Ambitious Launch Plans, Eyes Expansion in EV Segment
Kathmandu . MG Motor India, in collaboration with JSW Group, is set to introduce an array of new vehicles into the Indian market over the next year, bolstering its presence and product offerings. The announcement comes amidst a strategic push towards electrification and expansion in both mass-market and premium segments.
Rajiv Chaba, President and Managing Director of MG Motor India, confirmed the approval for five new models slated for launch by the end of 2025. Chaba emphasized the joint venture's commitment to innovation and product diversification. The upcoming launches include a mix of electric and hybrid vehicles, catering to diverse consumer preferences. The highlight of the lineup is the MG Cloud EV, an electric MPV expected to debut in the festive season. Designed on a born-electric platform, the Cloud EV promises a spacious interior and advanced features.
MG Motor India announced the Cloud EV launch following the launch of Bingo EV hatchback, built on the Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, featuring a robust battery performance with up to 333 km range. Additionally, MG is preparing to introduce a new D-segment SUV, likely based on the Wuling Starlight S, alongside updates to its existing lineup, including the Gloster facelift.
In a bid to capture the premium market segment, MG Motor India plans to establish dedicated outlets for higher-end vehicles. The much-anticipated launch of the MG Cyberster, a two-door electric sports car, reflects the brand's commitment to cutting-edge automotive technology and performance. With these strategic initiatives, MG Motor India aims to consolidate its position in the Indian automotive market while contributing to the country's electric vehicle revolution.
“In Nepal, Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor for MG Motors, is gearing up for the launch of the MG Cyberster this year” a spokesperson from Paramount Motors said. "This innovative electric vehicle is poised to redefine the landscape of electric mobility in Nepal, offering unparalleled performance and futuristic design."
