Banepa Municipality swings into action

Dhulikhel - Banepa Municipality has launched a drive to remove the various materials kept by the vendors and hardware stores on the sides of the Araniko highway.
The campaign is called "Let Us Make Banepa Municipality Clean and Beautiful, Let Us Make the Araniko Highway Systematic."
In this connection, the municipality on Thursday removed the various goods and materials kept alongside the road by the fruit vendors, cloth merchants, food store operators and hardware stores.

Mayor Laxmi Narsingh Bade led the drive to remove the goods and materials kept on both sides of the road, with the help of the police administration.
Mayor Bade said that all the goods and materials including the construction materials kept on the sides of the road by shopkeepers and traders have been removed on that stretch of the highway.
He said the roadside from Pul Bazaar to Budol Danda has been cleared of such goods and materials for the present but the municipality has planned to clear the entire 28 kilometres stretch of the highway that falls under the municipality in the coming days.

"We have started the campaign from today. The municipality and the Road Division Office have issued public notice in this connection. Anyone flouting the municipality's order to remove the goods and construction materials kept on the road side would be liable for legal action," he warned.
