Nepal Police wraps up 23 major investigations in a year

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police announced today that they have completed investigations into 23 significant cases over the past year.

At a press conference held at the Nepal Police Headquarters, Deputy Inspector General Bhim Prasad Dhakal shared the successful resolution of cases including the Lalita Niwas land scam, recovery of 60 kilograms of gold, and the arrest of Ram Bahadur Bamjon on pedophilia charges.

Additionally, DIG Dhakal highlighted other notable cases, such as the Deurali cooperative embezzlement, apprehension of a Hundi trader, and uncovering scams involving the Shiva Shikhar cooperative and fake Bhutanese refugees.

Nepal Police disclosed filing a total of 59,061 cases nationwide in the past year, with banking fraud cases being the most prevalent.

Kathmandu Valley reported the highest number of cases, while Karnali Province had the lowest.
